A train arrives in a nondescript city. Something urges us to move on – but what if we stay? This machinima lingers in the quiet corners of a virtual world, observing its non-player characters as they loop, vanish, and emote with uncanny sincerity. The film slips through the cracks of the simulation, revealing a space not meant to be seen. Somewhere between architecture and illusion, presence and absence, a question lingers: must something be real for us to feel for it?
