A train arrives in a nondescript city. An unnamed character alights on the platform. Something urges us to move on – but I don’t want to. Walls begin flickering in and out of existence.

As a child I always wanted to know what happened behind a loading screen. Non-Player Character lingers in the quiet corners of a virtual world, observing its inhabitants as they loop, vanish, and emote with uncanny sincerity. Who do we really see when we look at one another?
